Help Desk for Operations Support to $46k+ – Minneapolis

Terrific opportunity for a professional individual ready to move ahead in a great career as an Operations Support - Help Desk Specialist for this stable, well known company headquarters.

JOB SUMMARY: The Help Desk is the central interface for problem reporting and tracking, and also provides problem determination and resolution services. Help Desk staff take both internal and external problem reports, and either resolve or forward the problem to the most appropriate support staff. Help Desk staff also perform many computer operations services, including program job and computer system monitoring, backup and restores, and printing and report distribution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Respond to calls to the Help Desk that either report a problem or request a service. Input and monitor such calls in the problem tracking and reporting system, HEAT.
Contact other support providers, both internal and third party, as needed to provide problem resolution services.
Provide Level One support for various systems and platforms, including: Radiant, network, AIX, personal computers etc.
Monitor the status of outstanding support requests.
Perform computer operator duties, including tape backup and restore, job schedule monitoring, printing, report distribution, etc.
Other duties as assigned by the Help Desk Supervisor or Director of Technology Systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
At least one to two years experience in a Help Desk environment.
Experience in a computer operations environment a very long strong plus.
Experience with HEAT, Knowlix, or other problem management and knowledgebase systems.
Experience in a retail support environment a strong plus.
Experience with personal computers, UNIX or AIX operations, networking, are all very strong pluses.
Very good communication skills.
High level of appreciation for customer service.

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:
College education in related field or equivalent experience. Help Desk certifications or training a very strong plus.

DAYS/HOURS:
Saturday, Sunday, Monday 6pm - 7am
