RMG, part of JWT, is seeking a Senior Strategic Planner to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview

Acquire in-depth understanding of a client’s business environment, including general business processes, target audiences/customer attributes, organizational "pain", marketing strategy, marketing communications and organizational readiness for implementing multi-channel communication programs, CRM programs, integrated communication plans and/or performance measurement systems.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management

* Proactively anticipates and identifies problems and issues, develops alternative approaches, and confidently presents to client and team members effective alternative solutions and helps junior staff to do the same.
* Achieves the highest levels of quality and standards for personal and team artifacts, including those artifacts developed by more junior team members.
* Transfers knowledge to client, project and discipline to team members and peers.
* Ensure a strategic focus throughout the lifecycle of the project
Client Relationship Management

* Rapidly establishes credibility at all levels within the client.
* Prepares and delivers formal presentations, as well as facilitate small group client planning sessions.
* Looks beyond current project or current role to understand the client’s strategic long term goals, policies and procedures to identify other beneficial improvements or opportunities; such as redundancies, best practice applications, inconsistencies, etc.

Planning and Consulting

* Provide a depth and breadth of knowledge for developing multi-channel communication programs, CRM programs, integrated communication plans and/or performance measurement systems
* Manage the RMG Connect strategic planning process to help clients organize and define their integrated communication initiatives (specifically direct marketing, CRM and digital/e-Business initiatives).
* Understands and applies industry/market intelligence and knowledge of best practices to client-specific context.
* Prepares for and facilitates client planning sessions and strategy workshops.
* Responsible for the development of primary strategy artifacts, including; strategy reports, implementation plans, communication plans, audience profiles, user scenarios, feature roadmaps and operational measurement plans.
* Educate RMG Connect project team on specifics of findings from the above mentioned documentation, as well as client feedback.

Market Research
* Provides research and analysis for client advertising, direct marketing, web-based campaigns and industry best practices for marketing results.
* Produces research analysis reports including business profiles, competitive profiles, score cards and situational analysis summaries.
* Performs non research related analysis to support marketing strategies including customer behavior segmentation, experimental test design and other types of database analysis.

Metrics and Analytics

* Provides expertise in the area of performance measurement, including knowledge of best practices for metrics tracking, report design, and data analysis.
* Works with Strategic Planning, Business Intelligence and Media Planning teams to design and implement operational metrics programs and campaign tracking.
* Leads the collection of performance measurement data and preparation of client reports.

Requirements

* Outstanding oral and written communication skills required, including: business writing/documentation skills and presentation skills.
* Handles multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Effective communication and engagement with all levels of RMG Connect and the client company staff.
* 5-7 years experience in an advertising, marketing or marketing communications role designing and executing marketing and advertising campaigns.
* Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business, marketing or communications related field, or equivalent experience. MBA or equivalent is strongly preferred.
